Richard I and Saladin were enemies from the get go they couldn't agree who should have control over the holy land and couldn't stop fighting over it. In the beginning of the crusades they were gracious to each other then Richard I took all of the Turkish soldiers and surrendered people of Acre and beheaded them. Saladin was furious and from then on Saladin took no mercy on any captured enemy and killed the prisoner on the spot. Finally nearing the end of the third crusade Richard wore down Saladin and forced him to make a truce. even though they never met, they were the biggest parts of the third crusades.Tuesday, May 17, 2011

I think it is very cool that even though Richard and Saladin never met, they were still the biggest parts of the third crusades. Also it was unusual that in the beginning of the crusades they were gracious to each other even though they are enemies.
ReplyDeleteIf someone were my enemy in any war, I would not be able to be polite to them at all. I would deffinently not be gracious towards them.
