Richard I relationship with his father.

.He was  constantly fought for the position of king and was always trying to take over his father, Henry II.In 1173 Richard joined his brothers in over throwing their father. Henry had raised an army of 20,000soldiers. Richard Hired Anjou and Phillip's armies to take over his father. Richard was the last one to stand up to his father.After defeating his father Richard was named duke of Normandy and count of Anjou and king of England on September 3 1189.

  1. I think it is very unusual and interesting to fight your father even for the position of king. Although, it is very cool that Richard rasied an army of 20,000soldiers and overthrew his father to be named duke of Nomandy.

  2. I don't think I wuld be able to fight my father in a war like that, even if it were for a position of power. You would always want to have your father helping you along, and if you overthrew your own father then he most likely won't be there to help you.
